Liberating the Sacred Muxer

We are experiencing collective grief, rage, sorrow, and loss as a result of colonial violence, once more, being inflicted upon Indigenous peoples. We invite you to share sacred space with us this winter solstice to learn, and unlearn, awaken, and heal through liberation.

Acerca del evento

We are excited to hold sacred space and be in community with you in a time when community is needed the most. As a collective, many of us have been experiencing significant grief, rage, sorrow, and loss as a result of the trauma we have experienced ourselves and repeatedly witnessed towards Black, Brown, and Indigenous people. We heal in community. We invite you to join us for a platica on the importance of historical remembrance and decolonizing, the need to embody liberation, and connect with our bodies in order to sanar. We invite you to join us as we guide you through somatic work, yoga, and a sound bath curated and weaved by two intuitive, Indigenous healers, Dr. Sandra Leon-Villa, PhD, and Human Rights Lawyer, Evelyn M. Rangel-Medina, Esq.

Evelyn is her mother’s revolution. She is a vegan yogini, grassroots organizer, intersectional activist, law professor, Critical Race Scholar, and human rights lawyer. She recently founded Liberation Law Firm, PLLC, and Liberation Consultants Group to help people leave abusive relationships and live a life aligned with their highest purpose. Evelyn devotes most of her life to healing intergenerational trauma and liberating her soul, lineage, family, and communities. She believes we all have the power to transform the world through love, justice, and compassion.

Dr. Sandra Leon-Villa is an autistic liberation neuropsychologist, intuitive healer, trauma expert, activist, speaker, and owner of an all BIPOC group practice, Innovation Behavioral Health Solutions, LLC. Her clinical work focuses on the assessment of neurodevelopmental (i.e., autism, ADHD) and neurocognitive conditions. In addition to providing trauma informed and culturally responsive assessment, her therapeutic approach involves decolonial and liberatory models as the foundation of mental health healing. Dr. Leon-Villa incorporates a liberatory praxis which not only involves an anti-oppressive, anti-racist, neurodiversity, and LGBTQ+ affirming lens, but also one that considers systemic and societal factors that contribute to the development and maintenance of mental health conditions.
