Rehabilitative Mental Health Specialist

 

As a Rehabilitative Mental Health Specialist, Emily provides interventions designed to reduce psychosocial dysfunction, cognitive and behavioral impairments, and to restore clients to their highest level of functioning. These services target psychological functioning within a variety of social settings using developmentally inappropriate cognitive and behavioral skills. These services help the client acquire constructive skills through positive reinforcement, modeling and other training techniques.

Maday started her educational career in Criminal Justice. During her undergraduate experience, she served as a tutor for at-risk children and an advocate for children in Diversion Court. This is where she cultivated her passion for advocacy and social justice and pursued her career in Social Work. Her professional goals include a commitment to serving children and families' needs as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. and as such, is currently completing her masters in social work.

Education

Maday Matamoros (M.A., Clinical Social Work) B.A. Criminal Justice, 2017, B.S. Social Work, 2019. Maday is a bilingual (Spanish/English) Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) and provides psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) and basic skills training (BST). She is currently a second-year M.A. student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
